Projects - New Currency Institute

During the first three years of the Institute’s operations, primary focus will be given to the highly correlated relationships between money and pertinent global problems ranging from poverty to financial instability; from rising health care costs to energy dependence; from resource depletion to cultural narcissism.

Capitalizing on emerging global opportunities will be given equally significant weight, including the enormous potential for furthering global connectivity, prosperity, values, interdependence and reconciliation.

The Institute will focus on three core projects:

  • The Onement Project supports research and development projects that enhance the resilience and security of the global digital financial architecture. At present, our work is focused on securing data, financial transactions and cloud computing.
  • The New Currency Project is focused on supporting the emergence of a new economic paradigm that transcends the limitations of traditional economic theory. At the heart of this initiative is bringing to light solutions for boom and bust cycles, exponential growth, myopic decision making and investment, the concentration of wealth and inelastic currencies.*
  • The New Currency Institute is also working to further the understanding of interconnections between money, values and identity formation. One particular area of interest is the potential for new perspectives on money to help reconcile seemingly incompatible and tenacious positions currently held between the world’s religions (and also the scientific community). At the heart of all of the major religions are highly consistent and compatible views of money that could potentially serve as a leverage point for religious and spiritual reconciliation. This initiative is not a call for a return to the past but to demonstrate how cutting-edge 21st century monetary tools are highly compatible with religious and scientific insight with the capacity to further understanding, cooperation and mutual respect between cultures and civilizations.*
